My name is Jamie, and I live in Austin, Texas.  This page is intended to let you know a little bit about me!  As you may have noticed from my blog name, I am a big fan of the original Van Halen and a lover of travel and photography!

I was raised in Nebraska and lived there until I was 35 years old, when I decided that it was time for some new adventures and I moved with my children to Colorado.  We lived in that gorgeous state for 5 years, until work brought us to Austin, Texas.  We miss the mountains, but love all that Austin has to offer!

I have been traveling the world since 2010, but the retirement of my finance in 2017 has brought about a lot of changes in our lives and we plan to spend a lot of our time seeing places that we haven’t seen before and most likely reconnecting with places that we hold dear to our hearts.  With that also comes exploration of the beautiful city that we live in and the wonderful state that we call home.

In the past I was a baby, child and family photographer, and although I no longer do portraits to pay the bills, I am still a huge fan of photography and want to share my passion with my followers.
